Our INNOLARVA project uses insect larvae to transform organic agri-food waste into natural compost, we have won the III edition of the InnoFood awards, promoted by Mercabarna and Barcelona Activa. These awards are part of the InnoFood program to encourage projects and start-up companies to provide new solutions and improvements in any of the processes in the food value chain.

It is a circular economy project that produces larvae to transform organic and vegetable waste from the food chain into compost. This compound, produced with the chitin of the larvae, regenerates farmland without chemical additives. The program was looking for projects with innovative solutions and sustainable aspects that want to respond to future challenges in the food sector, our project has been the winner considering these challenges. The development of the program took place in parallel with the celebration of the World Capital of Sustainable Food, based in Barcelona.
