This innovative initiative connects us with Barcelona’s vibrant ecosystem, providing unparalleled opportunities for growth and collaboration. Recently, we had the pleasure of welcoming two prominent Chilean companies:
River Pla, founded in 2020 by Ivan Pino Saavedra, stands out in the plastics, agricultural, and biomedical industries. Their value proposition focuses on sustainable innovations using lactic acid to create unique polymers, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by more than 50% compared to conventional polymers. They offer adaptable polymers for various applications, from packaging to medical products.
On the other hand, Neocrop Technologies, founded by Dra. Francisca Castillo Castro, is a biotech-agrotech startup established in 2021. Their focus is on developing super seeds that are more nutritious, climate-resistant, and disease-resistant, reducing or eliminating the need for pesticides. They utilize cutting-edge technologies like CRISPR genetic editing and offer services such as the development of new crop varieties, molecular biomarkers, and accelerated crop generation.
During their stay in Barcelona, these companies participated in an immersion program designed by BCN360, allowing them to explore new perspectives, share knowledge, and establish valuable connections in the city’s dynamic business environment.
